Description

OF LETTERS AND SECRET MARKS

Together we will explore Museum Brandhorst and create our own typeface! We will look at the objects in the museum and those contained in the artworks. We will use them to draw letters and symbols that we like. Once we are attuned to our surroundings, our feelings are suddenly aroused: an artwork excites us, and this is reflected in our drawings. In this way, we will create special symbols and letters that suit the museum and its visitors, thus producing a new typeface together.

The workshop will take place in the ticket-free area of the Factory space (lower level) and is run by Carla Nagel. She is a graphic designer and artist. She has worked for many years for museums and book publishers as well as in the field of science education. She has designed several “art expeditions” for children and the “ActioncARTs” for Museum Brandhorst. She also realizes freelance projects.

ABOUT THE KIDS’ FACTORY

The Kids’ Factory is an offer for you kids. Every Saturday from 2 to 4 p.m. you can get creative there according to your mood. Changing techniques and themes entice you to take part in varied and age-appropriate artistic activities. Whether drawing, painting, using different printing techniques or dancing, whether analog, digital or hybrid—we will take you into the world of colors and shapes and appeal to your imagination and creative spirit. Please bring your parents along to accompany you. You can join in at any time.
