Description

Museum Brandhorst’s spectacular façade design is already a Munich landmark. The 36,000 colored ceramic rods are a distinctive feature of the architecture by Sauerbruch Hutton. Learn more about this building, which opened in 2009, and follow us into a unique space designed specifically for the twelve-part “Lepanto” cycle by US artist Cy Twombly (1928-2011) in 2001. You will learn how the young museum in Munich’s Kunstareal developed from the private art collection of Anette and Udo Brandhorst, as well as the references Twombly’s cycle has to Venice, for example. Our guides are open to questions and discussions.
