Description

STENCIL, SCREEN PRINTING, FABRIC

Originally used for advertising and textile printing, screen printing became an important pop art technique thanks to artists such as Andy Warhol and Keith Haring. Warhol used screen printing to reproduce motifs in series. Haring used it, for example, in his “Apocalypse” series, which he designed with William S. Burroughs.

In the workshop you will learn the technique of screen printing. We will cut our own stencils and print them on fabric bags (if available). You are also welcome to bring shirts, bags and other textiles. Note that our inks adhere best to natural fabrics. By these means, you can create your own wearable works of art.

The workshop is run by artist Tabitha Nagy.

If the weather is fine, the workshop will take place at the Kunstmobil, located outside behind the museum. In the event of rain or strong winds, it will be held in the Factory or Museum’s Café.
