Young Night: 28 June 2024

On June 28, 2024, the Young Night will open the exhibition “Andy Warhol & Keith Haring. Party of Life” with a festival: Free admission from 6 p.m. to midnight! In cooperation with FILMFEST MÜNCHEN – CineYou. Liquid Rhythms featuring Blitz Club and Public Possession.

Music by Blitz Club and Public Possession feat. by Liquid Rhythms

From 6 p.m. to midnight there will be plenty to listen to while visiting the museum: Munich’s Blitz Club and the music label Public Possession have put together a great line-up to go with the exhibition. Whether on the lawn at sunset or in the galleries while engaging with the art, you can listen to various different artists. A special sundowner in the middle of the Kunstareal! And the beat goes on after midnight with the afterparty in the Blitz Club.

FILMFEST MÜNCHEN is participating in the Young Night with an accompanying program: Director and artist Su Steinmaßl is supplementing the Liquid Rhythms music program with a visual performance, in which she adopts the aesthetics of the film series “Sparkling and Wild: ’80s New York in Film,” shown in cooperation with Museum Brandhorst.

The Young Night kicks off our “Party of Life” exhibition. Andy Warhol and Keith Haring were pop stars, charismatic networkers, (self-)marketers and are among the most famous artists of the second half of the 20th century. The revolutionized the established notions of art and its dissemination. Discover the exhibition with music, conversations and workshops!

Young art experts present their favorite works

The young people in the pi.lot project will introduce you to their favorite works and invite you to talk to them. Find out what fascinates them and what exciting details they have discovered. During a week of seminars, the pi.lot project offers pupils aged 14 and over who are interested in art the opportunity to study originals in the Alte Pinakothek, the Pinakothek der Moderne and Museum Brandhorst in depth – with the aim of developing an individual presentation.

Build an opinion about art through conversation. Exchange ideas, discuss and hear what fascinates others about their favorite works. From 6 p.m. to 11 p.m., our art information team will be there for you!

Tune in ahead of time: The playlist to accompany the exhibition

The playlist present you with a musical mix from Andy Warhol’s and Keith Haring’s time: Songs that were also played in their favorite clubs, “Studio 54” and “Paradise Garage,” music by their friends and colleagues, as well as new material that builds on the music tradition of the 1970s and 1980s.
